The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) serves as a major outreach arm of Alabama's land grant universitie. Extension is committed to educating and empowering citizens to make decisions that improve their lives. Through a statewide network of county offices, the Extension System has experience working with local communities, families, and business firms. Extension offices form an important link in the delivery of technical services targeting local industry and serve as contact points for business people and advocates for local projects. The ISIRP project will help cooperative extension agents extend and encourage the practical application of research-generated knowledge in cooperation with public and private partners.
