AU Rover
Welcome to the AU-ECE TIGER Rover website!
The TIGER Rover was designed and built by sixteen students in a senior design project class in the Auburn University Electrical and Computer Engineering Department during Spring semester, 2004.. The goal of the project is to build a remotely operated vehicle that can be driven over a wireless internet connection within the ECE Building (Broun Hall)and can carry a 100-pound payload. The rover will be driven through the wireless internet in the building from another computer and features two-way audio and video communication to a command post. The driver will be able to view where he/she is going through a remotely operated webcam mounted on the rover. For safety, the rover is designed with onboard emergency shutoffs and sensors for collision detection.

  TIGER is online
Welcome to TIGER's web space. We are still working on the pages, so some items may not be fully functional. Our photo gallery is open however, so please enjoy browsing through the pictures. We will soon be adding more technical information about the rover. A large portion of the funding was donated by local companies and individuals, to whom we are very grateful. We also thank the AU ECE Department, The AU Wireless Research and Education Center, and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering for their support. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Thad Roppel by email: troppel@eng.auburn.edu or by telephone: (334) 844-1814.
